“Years from now, when all the junk they got is broken and long forgotten, you’ll still have your stars.” – Jeannette Wells, The Glass Castle
This book was phenomenal. I read the first chapter at a local bookstore and I had to buy it on the spot. Once I got situated at home that night I picked the book up again and I traveled with the main character, Jeannette.
Jeannette lived with her parents & siblings. However, the parents were not your typical folks – moving around the states, scamming the system & living some days with no money, only spoonfuls of butter. The family goes through many trials and tribulations, you fall in love with Jeannettes’ will & determination.
The closing of the book tied up perfectly and wrapped itself right back to the beginning – which I completly forgot since the bookstore. I was in love that this was a memoir. Jeannette is truly a winner.
‘The Glass Castle’ held me in and I finished this read quick. Recommend.
